Buyer's guides

Best Shopify apps: honest buyer's guides

These guides rank every qualifying app in three categories (popups, announcement bars, and social proof) by a transparent, data-only criterion: category fit first (full support before partial), then App Store rating, highest first, with equal ratings ordered by review count. Every price and rating is sourced directly from each app's Shopify App Store listing and dated. BoostPop is our own app; we disclose this clearly and rank it by the same method as all others, which places it behind several higher-rated rivals in each category, including social proof.

We built BoostPop because we believe the Shopify ecosystem deserves a popup and bar app with pricing that cannot surprise you: a Free plan that never turns into a bill, and a Pro plan at one flat monthly price set by your Shopify plan. These guides are our attempt at the kind of buyer's-guide resource we would have wanted when choosing tools for a store ourselves. Where BoostPop qualifies, we name it as our disclosed pick (for one app that covers popups, bars and social proof); every guide includes the full ranked list with each competitor's genuine strengths and cites every figure with a source URL and date.

Competitor weaknesses appear only as verbatim attributed user reviews, never our own assertion. The full feature and pricing matrix for each category is included alongside the editorial guide, so you can run your own comparison rather than relying on our framing.
