A free shipping bar is one of the highest-ROI widgets you can add to a Shopify store. Showing a visitor that they are $12 away from free shipping is a direct, specific incentive to add one more item — it works because the reward is immediate and the action required is clear.
In BoostPop, the free shipping bar is a feature of the Announcement Bar widget. It displays a live progress bar inside the bar strip alongside dynamic messages that update as the visitor’s cart grows. You set the threshold, the three message states (empty cart, progress, goal reached), and the progress bar colours. The bar then tracks cart value automatically on every page.

Create or open an announcement bar campaign
In the BoostPop dashboard, open an existing announcement bar campaign or click New campaign → Announcement Bar. The free shipping bar lives inside an action bar.

Enable the Free Shipping goal
In the Content tab, open the Free Shipping section and toggle Enable Free Shipping on.

Set the target value
Enter the cart total (in your store currency) a visitor must reach to unlock free shipping — for example, 50.

Write your three messages
Set an Initial Message for empty carts (use the {{target}} placeholder to insert the threshold), a Progress Message for carts on the way (use {{remaining}} to show how much more they need), and a Reach Message shown once they hit the goal.

Customise the progress bar colours
Set the Progress Bar Background (track colour), the Progress Bar Pending Color (fill before the goal is reached), and the Progress Bar Complete Color (fill when the goal is reached).

Preview and publish
Use the Simulation Preview buttons (Empty / Half / Full) in the editor to check how the bar looks at each stage, then Save & Publish.

- Does the progress bar update in real time as a visitor adds to cart?
- Yes. The bar listens to cart changes and updates the message and fill percentage without a page reload.
- Can I run a free shipping bar and regular announcement text at the same time?
- Within a single campaign, the Free Shipping section replaces the standard text when enabled. To run both, create a second announcement bar campaign with the regular message and set display targeting or scheduling so they do not conflict.
