Pay-As-You-Go plan: existing accounts only
Reviewed by Eran Betzalel, founder · 2026-10-02
Existing accounts only. This page is for stores that are already on the Pay-As-You-Go plan. The plan is no longer offered to new stores. If you are choosing a plan today, read How BoostPop pricing works instead.
Your plan continues. Here is what changes and what does not.
What does not change
- Your plan keeps running. We never move, re-price or re-approve your subscription for you. You approve something new only if you choose to move to Pro.
- Your free allowance. Every billing cycle starts with 5,000 free widget views. A widget view is one widget shown on one page view, the same unit the Free and Pro plans count.
- Your rates. After the free allowance, usage is billed per 1,000 widget views in bands. Each rate applies only to the widget views inside its band, the way income tax brackets work:
- 5,001 to 20,000 widget views: $1.50 per 1,000
- 20,001 to 50,000: $0.40 per 1,000
- 50,001 to 100,000: $0.15 per 1,000
- 100,001 to 200,000: $0.05 per 1,000
- 200,001 to 500,000: $0.25 per 1,000
- 500,001 to 1,000,000: $0.40 per 1,000
- above 1,000,000: $0.30 per 1,000
- Billing in blocks of 1,000. A started block of 1,000 widget views is billed as a full block.
- Your spending cap. The cap is the most BoostPop can charge in one Shopify billing cycle. It starts at $100, and you can raise or lower it from the BoostPop dashboard. Shopify asks you to approve every change, and Shopify enforces the cap, so you are never charged more than the amount you approved. If the cap is reached, widgets stop for the rest of the cycle and resume when the next cycle starts.
- Your billing cycle. It is a 30-day window managed by Shopify, not the calendar month. Usage and the free allowance reset at the start of each cycle.
- Your widgets. The pricing change itself never switches off a widget. The spending cap you set still pauses widgets when it is reached, as before.
- How to cancel. Open the Pricing page in the BoostPop app (under Settings) and choose the Free plan there. You confirm in the app. The steps in “Change or cancel your plan” are for Free and Pro stores.
What changes
- The plan is closed to new and returning stores. It no longer appears as a choice on the Pricing page (under Settings). The 90-day trial that came with it is no longer offered to new stores.
- You now have a path to Pro. Click Upgrade to Pro on the Pricing page in the BoostPop app (under Settings). BoostPop sets the Pro price that matches your Shopify plan for you, and Shopify shows its approval screen with the exact price before anything is charged. Pro is one flat monthly price set by your Shopify plan.
- Moving is one way. Approving Pro ends your Pay-As-You-Go plan. If you cancel Pro later, your store returns to Free (3,000 widget views a month), not to Pay-As-You-Go. Usage already recorded in your current Pay-As-You-Go cycle is still billed by Shopify.
- Cancelling is one way too. If you cancel Pay-As-You-Go and return to Free, the plan cannot be restored.
